Bradwell Pre School

HOME Here is the latest news from Bradwell Pre School.

We are now sited at Bradwell Infant School, having moved in September and we have settled into our new surroundings extremely well.  The Staff and children have a feeling of belonging and all the children love their new surroundings.

Since moving we have been very busy, enjoying sessions at Hope Construction forest area, which we will re-visit after Easter, visiting Bradwell Fire Station, and learning about Bonfire night and how to stay safe (which included making a Guy for the Bradda Dads Bonfire).

We held a Hamper Raffle and Coffee Morning in November, and raised £798 for preschool funds, plus we applied for the Co-op Local Community Fund to raise money for new books and equipment which will enable our children to start their educational journey through play. We also celebrated Diwali, Chinese New Year and Christmas, which included a special visit from Father Christmas.

Our topics for the spring term are SPACE, ROAD SAFETY, SPRING & EASTER. The children have learnt all about the moon and they have made ‘puffy paint’ to create pictures of its rocky surface. They are current looking at the planets, stars and making rockets and aliens. We also took part in British Science week and invited parents who have an interest in this to come and talk to the children.  We made slime, colourful carnations, rain catchers, wizard's brew and watched raisins bounce in lemonade.

We also made pancakes for Pancake Day, dressed up as our favourite book character for World Book Day and dressed in red for Comic Relief.  We have lots of fun during our Muddy Monday and Tuesday Baking sessions.  Why not visit the website to see what we have been doing.

On Sunday June 25th 2017 we will once again be running the Bradwell Hill Billy cycle sportive, which is 78km including 7 hill climbs and 2300m ascent OR 55 km including 5 hill climbs and 1500m ascent.  This is a timed event with a relaxed start from 8 - 9.30am, and costs £27 or £24 with all proceeds to Bradwell Preschool –

Big Thank You’s to:

Bradda Dads for their generous donation towards the cost of the shed in which to secure our equipment.

Bradwell Parish Council - £1,000 from their S137 grant fund.

Preschool places – We appreciate that September 2017, seems a long way off, but we would like parents with preschool children to think about the number of hours for which they might like to send their 2, 3 and 4 year old children in September 2017.  We will be open for 21 hours and if both parents are working 16 hrs or more and earning less than £100K you should be entitled to free child care.  At present all 3 and 4-year-olds in England are entitled to 570 hours of free early education or childcare a year. This is often taken as 15 hours each week for 38 weeks of the year. Some 2-year-olds are also eligible. This will double to 30 hours free childcare from September 2017.  We are operating on a first come first served basis, so it’s important that you contact Mrs. W Riley as soon as possible to avoid disappointment because places are filling up fast.  Contact Mrs. W Riley 07856 236563 or email –
