Emergency Response Information

HOME Whether we like it or not, our village is sometimes subjected to emergency situations.  Such situations are normally weather related, such as heavy snow or flooding, but emergencies come in many forms.

This page is dedicated to the various emergencies we anticipate may occur and gives instructions and guidance on what to expect and where to go for help or guidance.

As time goes by we will be adding to this page and updating the information, so please keep coming back to make sure you have the most up to date  information.

FLOODING

The most likely area to experience flooding is in the region around St Ives bridge by the traffic lights, when the water level does not allow all the water to pass freely under the road bridge and/or the mill..  However, flooding can occur anywhere in the village and residents need to be aware that the village has four flood wardens.  In the event of a flood event, the wardens have been trained in how to provide an initial emergency response and they also have access to County resources who can be called upon to help.

A flood emergency plan has been developed and a shortened version, with the most essential information can be found here.  It is recommended that residents familiarise themselves with the details of this plan so they know what to do and expect should an emergency occur.
